What type of post Snippets are shown on my blog's Adoptic widget?

Snippets from your blogging community is shown in your widget.

Do I need to pay to promote my blog?

No. Adoptic is a free service.

Do I need a blog to join the Adoptic network?

Yes. For the time being, you need a blog to be able to create Snippets. In the future, however, Adoptic will be expanding its services to individuals who want to promote or review others’ blogs.

Can I have multiple posts being promoted at the same time?

Yes. You can promote multiple posts, and decide on the exposure levels of each. You can set these options on the “My Snippets” page.

What does the Exposure of a Snippet mean?

By adjusting the exposure level of your Snippet, you are deciding how frequently your Snippet is going to be shown, relative to your other active Snippets. So, if you have one Snippet on High exposure and another on Low exposure, the first ad will be shown more than the second Snippet. The number of times your Snippet is shown also depends on your credits. Therefore, a High exposure Snippet will be shown more frequently when your credits increase.

What are Adoptic credits for and how does the credit system work?

You use credits to promote your Snippets on someone else’s blog. You gain credits when you show the Snippets of other blog posts.

How do you determine the amount of credits I get?

Your credits are determined by the number of readers you have and how much demand there is to show Snippets on your site.

Will I ever run out of credits?

No. Unless you have no readers reading your blog, you will not run out of credits.

I understand that Adoptic will increase the number of people that read my blog, but will this audience be relevant to my blog?

Yes! Your Snippets are featured within the communities and individuals that you choose.

Can I join more than one community?

Yes, you can join up to four communities.

Can I stop promoting my Snippet on someone’s blog?

Yes. To stop your Snippet being shown on a blog page, simply go to the users Public Site on Adoptic and click “Stop promoting on Blog“. Once you do so, the blogger will be removed from your friends.

Does it matter where I put the Adoptic widget on my site?

“Do onto others as you would wish them do onto you.” Yes, placing the Adoptic widget in a visible spot will help share the ideas being expressed in your community more efficiently.

Are there different widget sizes and colors available?

Yes. You can determine the color and size of the widget that will appear on your blog.
